From The Mouth Of Munch: Josh & The Jamtones

For those of you who have visited CEC lately, then you no doubt have heard of my newfound friends, Josh & The Jamtones from Jamhouse Records. For those of you who are not familiar, they've been doing a lot of creative work lately for my supervisor, Chuck E. himself, as well as for Chuck E. Cheese Enterprises, which of course is our company.

Coming from a Pizza Time Theater veteran, no one should know better than myself, along with the rest of the Make Believe Band, how important it is to maintain, within CEC, that kind of entertainment quality. Why? Because since the first day that we started this whole thing in 1977, we've seen a lot of inappropriate stuff come in.

If you're a character like myself, then you know what it's about: less dialogue means less activity. So even though my career goes back to 1977 with Chuck, Helen and Jasper, the '90s was that decade in which I consider to be the apex with everything that we ever did with Chuck E. Cheese's.

For a few reasons: First, because we had live actors and musicians filming the show segments back then, second, because we spent the "extra dollar" when/where we had to, and third, because "Chuck Sr.," as we refer to the grandfather, had way more enthusiasm for the theater than did his spoiled little grandson.

So what does this have to do with Jamhouse Records? Well, as a veteran, I can tell you for sure that Josh and the guys have been more successful than any act we've had at CEC, since the 2011-12 season, and of course I would say this is with the exception of Caspar Babypants, who was successful in making 2014 pop.

But the reason that that is has everything to do with caring, and nothing to do with profits. I mean, at my last visit to Chuck's place in Northridge, California, Nicole, who is a manager who's known me for at least 4 years, instituted a "1-beer-per-hour" policy upon my purple, fuzzy head; what is that?!

But with Jamhouse Records, they seem to get that it's about people, not policies. We have to make our world a safer place, but through caring instead of corporate control; Josh & The Jamtones are that one act, from Chuck E. Cheese's, who seem to actually get it!

Until next time, Munch out...
